I've tended to handwave the dilophosaur frills & venom-spew as gene-spliced reptile traits, but that 'naturalism as opposed to 1-for-1 current accuracy' actually dovetails nicely with the paleofan community's love for All Yesterdays-style extrapolation. Bring on the basilisk-crest deinonychs, rooster-comb hadrosaurs and gular-pouch allosaurs, says I-and while we're at it, how 'bout an elasmosaur already?
